Thank you all so very much for the showering of love last week for Teacher Appreciation Week.   It was so nice to get flowers, cards/pictures, and yummy cookies.   It is such a joy to work at Little Lamb.  Thank you for everything.

Vacation Bible School

June 17-21 from 9-11:30 am
The theme this year is “Tell it on the Mountain Where Jesus Christ is Lord.”  Registration forms will go home with students this coming week for students age 3 thru 5th grade.
**Registration papers went home last week.   Mrs. Rohrer is teaching the 3 year old Preschool class again for VBS.

FAMILY PICNIC

Friday, May 17th is the Little Lamb Family Picnic.   Bring the whole family, a picnic dinner, blanket or chairs, and drinks to the St. John Lutheran School Playground from 5:30-7:00 pm.  We will have fun and fellowship with all the Little Lamb families.   Hope to see you there!

Happy Mother’s Day

This week we will focus on camping.   We have a fun campsite set up for the students and a fishing activity with alphabet fish.   We will take a nature walk this week and will collect items found in the environment around Little Lamb.   It should be a fun week.
This week is Mrs. Schmidt’s last week at Little Lamb in the AM4’s class.   She told me today that she was sad about finishing her student practicum with us.  We will miss her.

Mother’s Day is coming on May 12, 2013.

This past week we finished our unit on worms.   I have to say that it was really fun to see the students get so excited about learning about worms over the past few weeks.   They should be worm experts now.  
This coming week we start our study of the woods.   We will talk about what you see in the woods and will finish the week with our field trip.   It will be a busy week.  
We are beginning our last month of school this week.   Happy May!

Field Trip to Anita Purves

This Thursday and Friday we are having class at Anita Purves Nature Center in Urbana. Parents are responsible for driving their child to Anita Purves and picking their child up.   We will take a walk through Busey Woods in search of worms and deer.  We will also look around the nature center.   We are praying for nice weather.  The children may get muddy/dirty, so we recommend that you send them in old clothes and shoes.   In case of rain or bad weather, the field trip will be cancelled and we will have school at Little Lamb as usual.   I will send an email early on Thursday or Friday morning if we are going to cancel the Field trip.

This past week we have learned so much about worms.  They really are amazing creatures and helpers to the earth.    This next week we will spend time observing worms.  We will talk about the parts of a worm and life cycle of a worm.  
I am having fun assessing the students for the end of the year progress reports.  It is rewarding to see how much each child has learned and grown.  What a great bunch of students we have at Little Lamb.   I feel blessed every day to get the opportunity to work with your children.
