Please either walk with your child or have another adult responsible for your child while we are walking in the parade. We are encouraging everyone to wear a St. John Lutheran School shirt. If you have questions about this event, please talk to Faith Block.
FOOD PANTRY NEEDS OUR HELPWe will be collecting food items the first Wednesday of each month for the food pantry at St. John. Food Pantries across the country are in short supply. This is a way for our students to help in our community. The first collection day will be this next Wednesday, September 1.
These are items that are generally stocked in the food pantry:
- Canned Soups ( no cream soups)
- Canned Vegetables
- Canned Fruit
- Cans of Pork and Beans
- Canned Pasta (Ravioli, Spaghetti and Meatballs, etc.)
- Boxes of Macaroni and Cheese
- Straight Noodle Pasta
- Jars or Cans of Spaghetti Sauce
- Peanut Butter
- Jelly
You may donate whatever you like. If there is an abundance of some items, we will put out a notice before the next month.
TUITION PAYMEMTSThis is just a reminder that tuition payments are due by the fifteenth of each month. If a monthly payment is not received by the first day of the following month, a $25.00 late fee will be assessed. For your convenience, you may bring it to the office, use the drop box outside the school office doors, or mail it to St. John Lutheran School Attn. Cindy, 509 South Mattis Ave. Champaign, IL 61821.
LUNCH CREDITS FOR FIELD TRIPSIf your child ordered lunch on a day when there is a field trip during the month of September, we will credit his or her lunch account. Credits will appear on the back side of October’s lunch menu.
ARRIVING LATE TO SCHOOLIf your child arrives late to school for any reason, please sign him or her in at the office. Your child will obtain an admittance slip to give to his or her teacher.
MEDICATIONSIf your child needs to take medications during school hours, please come to the school office and fill out a form giving consent for the office staff to dispense the medication. If your child has to take prescription medication, we need parental consent and doctor’s authorization. Please bring the prescription medicine in the original container to be stored in the office.
MEETING FOR 6TH AND 7TH GRADE PARENTSParents of sixth and seventh grade students should plan to meet in the Fellowship Hall at 7:00 on Friday, September 10 after the Open House. FALL AUCTION
Our largest fundraiser of the 2010-2011 year is our Fall Auction.
This will be a fun night out with dinner catered by Jim Gould’s, one of Champaign’s finest restaurants.
Funds raised will be a great benefit for our classrooms, including the goal of purchasing Smart Boards, as well as upgrading other technology for our children.
Please reserve your seats today by visiting the school website or contacting our school office during business hours.
We could also use your help!
Come to the Auction Committee meeting Tuesday, August 31 at 6:30 in the Fellowship Hall. There are many things to do and we could use extra hands!
