EARN CREDIT TOWARD YOUR TUITIONRemember also that St. John School parents who recruit new families with students in kindergarten through eighth grade will receive a $300 tuition credit per family recruited. The new family must identify the family who recruited them on the enrollment application. If the recruiting family is not identified on the enrollment application at the time of enrollment, the recruiting family may not receive this benefit. This tuition credit will be applied to the last tuition payment of the school year (February, 2011), or applied to a designated fund of the church or school, if the new family remains enrolled through that time.
IT’S NOT TOO LATE TO ORDER A YEARBOOKWe are in the process of putting together our yearbook for this year. Many of you have already ordered a yearbook when you paid your school fees at the beginning of the school year, but if you did not order a yearbook and wish to, it is not too late. Just call the school office at 359-1714 by March 12th and we will order you one or check to see if you have already ordered one. The yearbook comes in full color and the price is just $17.00.

There will be an opening ceremony, like the Olympics, at 8:50 in the gym for which classes will process in an opening parade. Chapel will be held at 9:15. At 2:00, the sixth grade students will have a Parade of Nations for the students and for sixth grade families and visitors.

Awards will be presented for the week, and we will pray together and then end with a closing parade.
“Coins for Christ” offerings will be collected throughout the week. Students will watch the offerings grow, and at the end of the week, the money will be given to Camp CILCA (Central Illinois Lutheran Camp Association).

MONARCH AND REBECCA CAUDILL VOTING RESULTSLast week students voted for their favorite Monarch Book. Students needed to read or listen to 5 of the 20 titles to vote. We are happy to say all kindergarteners through 3rd grade earned the right to vote. The winning book for our school was: My Dog is as Smelly as Dirty Socks. Scaredy Squirrel came in a close second. All the votes were sent to the ISLMA to be counted with other Illinois student votes. The result for the state winner will be announced in mid-March.
Students in fourth through eighth grade voted for their favorite Rebecca Caudill Book. These students needed to read 3 of the 20 Rebecca Caudill books. We had students eligible to vote from each grade. This year we had a three way tie for their favorite book. Dragon Slippers, Elephant Run, and Emma-Jean Lazarus Fell Out of a Tree, were the three books. All the votes were sent to RCYRBA steering team to be included with the other Illinois student votes. The results for the state winner will be announced in mid-March.
