Auction

An Auction is another fundraising event for the PTF. Auctions usually do not occur every year because of the intense planning and preparation that goes into the event. Prior to the event, items are solicited from local businesses and school families to be auctioned at the event and tickets are sold for the auction dinner. The next PTF Auction is being planned for the 2008-2009 school year.

Box Tops for Education 

Each year the PTF encourages families to collect General Mills Box Tops for Education. The Box Tops are located on boxes and packaging from the General Mill Company. When you use an item with a Box Top attached just cut out the Box Top and then send it to school. PTF collects Box Tops throughout the year, and there are several Box Top collection contests held throughout the year where classes compete to have the most Box Tops. PTF gets 10 cents for every Box Top collected.

Car Wash

The Car Wash is the major fundraiser in the Fall semester at St. John School. For this fundraiser students and parents are asked to solicit pledges and donations prior to the car wash date. At each grade level PTF Room Representative ask parents to volunteer time to help wash cars. On the day of the event the goal is to wash as many cars as possilbe. PTF also collects donations on the day of the car wash. The Car Wash is a wonderful time to meet other parents and teachers. After the car wash students are asked to collect pledges and donations and turn them into the PTF. Top money making classes and students win prizes for their efforts.

Fun Fair

Fun Fair is a major event at St. John Lutheran School and is also a fundraiser for the PTF. The Fun Fair coincides with the National Lutheran Schools Week. Parents can purchase tokens and meal tickets to use at the Fun Fair. Each classroom has a game that students can play to win tickets or prizes. A concession stand is available for food items for families. There are also large inflatables set up in the school Gym for students to play on. Each Room Representative will ask for parent volunteers to work the games at each grade level, staff the kitchen, prize center and admission gate offering a lot of opportunity to volunteer during the Fun Fair. There is often a classroom basket auction that is promoted during the Fun Fair as a fundraiser.

IGA/Country Market Card Sign Up

At the beginning of each school year the PTF asks that staff, parents, and family members to register their IGA and County Market card numbers with St. John School so we can earn cash back on the purchases made with the cards. The PTF earns over $1000.00 each year from cash back fundraisers like these. To participate, register and use your card every time that you shop at these stores. The companies keep track of spending and send the PTF a percentage of all purchases.

Market Day

Market Day

This predominantyly frozen food fundraiser is held monthly.  Order forms are sent home with the children and parents are encouraged to place orders.  The PTF receives 10% of all orders placed and 50 orders are needed each month to hold a sale.  Orders may be turned in to the school office or your child's teacher.  Pick up time and date is listed on the back of the order form.  Payment can be made ahead of time with credit card when ordering on-line, or can be paid for at the sale with cash or check.  Three mini fundraisers are available throughout the school year where select items can earn extra profit for our school.  Summer sales are optional and are held at the discretion of the Market Day chairperson.

Meijer Card Sign Up

To participate in this program, register your Meijer Card and a percentage of your purchases get paid to PTF. Purchases must be made with cash in order for this rebate to work.

Monical's Pizza Night

In the Spring semester Monical's Pizza will designate one night as a Pizza night for St. John Lutheran School. This means that a percentage of all purchases made on that night will be given back to PTF. This is an easy way to make money for our school. Make sure when you order or eat in at Monical's on our designated night that you give them the St. John Flyer that will go home with your child from school.

Pages for All Ages Book Fair

Each Fall semester Pages for All Ages Book Store in Savoy promotes a Book Fair for local schools. St. John School participates in the Book Fair. During the Book Fair Weekend a percentage of purchases will be given to schools. Patrons must designate that their purchases go to St. John Lutheran School at the time of checkout.

Plant Sale

The major fundraiser in the Spring Semester is the Plant Sale. Several options have been used for this fundraiser in the past. Order forms have been sent home for parents and family members to choose plants that they would like to purchase as a pre-sale to the plant sale and an actual plant sale would occur over a weekend. In 2008 PTF is trying a different spin on the Plant Sale. We will be selling Danville Gardens Gift Cards from March through May. PTF will earn a percentage of all the sales of the gift cards which can be redeemed at the Danville Gardens Stores in Champaign and Danville.

St. John Logo Items

St. John Lutheran School logo Item Graphic

Each year PTF offers new St. John Lutheran School Logo items. Items such as car magnets, t-shirts, sweatshirts, polo shirts, bags, hats, etc. are available each year for purchase. This is a great way to show school pride.

Track Meet Concessions

In the Spring Semester the St. John Athletic Department holds a multiple school track meet at the Armory on the University of Illinois Campus. PTF assists the St. John Althletic Department by providing volunteers to work a concession stand at the track meet and a percentage of the proceeds from this event goes to PTF.
