MARKET DAY
Market Day order forms were sent home with your child this week.
Please note that orders will be due on Wednesday, April 23 by 11:30
dismissal time. If you normally place your order over the Internet you
have until Friday the 25th at noon to submit your order. Pick up is
Wednesday, April 30 from 3-4pm in the Fellowship Hall. Contact Diane
Pelafos at 356-0063 if you have questions.
SCRIP

Orders that were placed this week will be available for pick-up Friday,
the 18th, from 8am – 3:15 pm in the school office due to maintenance at
the Scrip center. Our next order will be placed Tuesday, April 22.
Please have orders in the lockbox by noon that day. Thank you for

ADDITIONAL ORDER SHEETS FOR GIFT CARD PLANT SALE
Spring is HERE!!!! Additional card-purchase forms
are available online at St. John’s Lutheran School website. Simply go
to the drop down menu for Parent Teacher Fellowship and click on
Fundraising, from there select Plant Sale. The sale will continue
through the end of school. Local Danville Gardens 2 store opens April
8. Cards will also be for sale on Sunday, April 13th and 27th between
services at St. John Lutheran Church.

PLANT SALE 2008
The Plant Sale begins April 1. This is not an April Fool’s joke.
The PTF is changing the way the Plant Sale is offered this year. With
the assistance of Danville Gardens, the sale will begin April 1 and
continue through the end of school. Danville Gardens has provided us
with $10 gift cards. Information about the cards and where they can be
redeemed will be coming home with students on April 1. More
information will be available on the St. John’s Lutheran School
website, on Monday, March 31. THINK SPRING!!!
Plant Sale Order Form
RELAY FOR LIFE
The PTF is once again sponsoring a team for the Champaign Relay for
Life to be held on May 17th and 18th. As part of our fund-raising
efforts we have planned a pizza night at Village Inn
on the corner of Springfield and Mattis for Monday, April 7th. 15% of
our sales will go to the Relay for Life team's total. Fliers are
available in the school office and on the Narthex table to take with
you. One is also attached to this newsletter.
This flier will need to be presented to your server if you dine-in, or
the cashier if you order take-out. Spend a night out with your family
and help support our Relay for Life team. Thrivant Financial is making
a $500 donation to the Relay for Life on behalf of our St. John Team.

Please note that our next school order which is due in the lockbox by
noon Tuesday, April 8th will have a pick-up date change. The pick-up
date for the upcoming April 8th order was originally scheduled for
Wednesday, April 16 th, however, the company we purchase our scrip
cards from has recently scheduled maintenance and updating during this
time. So,
in order to ensure cards will be available we have extended the pick-up
date for only this upcoming order by two days. Therefore, orders
placed April 8th will be available for pick-up from 8am – 3:15pm
Friday, April 18th (not Wednesday, the 16th, as originally scheduled).

VOLUNTEERS WANTED!!
We have two opportunities for volunteers:
The first opportunity is to assist with concession sales during the St.
John’s Track Meet on April 5. A sign-up sheet is located outside the
school office. Contact Karen Rohrer for information 359-0432.
The second opportunity is for next school year. Anyone interested in
serving on the PTF board or becoming an active member of PTF, please
contact Karen Rohrer 359-0432. Positions range in responsibility and
time commitment.

SCRIP
Recent orders were available Wednesday in the school office. If you have not yet picked up your order, you may do so at any time. We will be placing another order next week. This is your last chance to earn dollars off your child’s March 2008 registration deposit! Orders are due in the lockbox outside the school office by noon, Tuesday February 19th. Credits earned on any orders placed after that time will be applied to your child’s tuition in November.
Please do not forget to include the $1 handling fee with your order. If you need an extra information packet and enrollment form for you, a friend or family member, they are available in the school office or on the Narthex table. You may also go to www.glscrip.com to view this program more closely. While there, click on “What’s New” to see the long list of retailers offering increased discounts this month! There are quite a few. Check it out!
Market DayThis month's Market Day orders went home with students earlier this week. They are due back to the school next Friday the 22nd. Its Bonus Days this month, meaning the more Brunch Items ordered on pages 2-3, the more money earned to support our school! Purchase just 3 Brunch items and receive a FREE 9" Stainless Steel Serving Spatula!
These Brunch items would be a tasty addition to your Easter breakfast table.
Just a reminder to please fill in the total quantity ordered on the back page. By filling in this space on the order sheet it helps us to double check the number of items you requested against the number that is input during order entry. Don't forget, 10% of each order placed comes back to our school and we need at least 50 orders each month so every order counts. Thanks for supporting Market Day!

The last week for Box Tops Winter Collection is February 18-22Keep turning in those neatly trimmed Box Tops. We are still actively collecting Box Tops until February 22. This event is a great way to support our school.
As an incentive, the class with the most neatly trimmed Box Tops will win a class Ice Cream Party. The key word is neatly trimmed. For the Box Tops to count for the Ice Cream Party, the Box Tops need to be trimmed around the dotted line. Thank you for supporting our school.
