PTF Board Members Present:  Monica Taylor, Laurie McDonald, Tricia Morenz, Linda Prom, Karen Rohrer, Renee Nagy, Ralph Leffler, Julie Tappendorf, Tiffany Bauer

Others Present:  Wendy Wolter, Ana Vieira, Mary Slack, Kim Schmidt, Diane Pelafos, Leah Seten, Jeni Oschwald, Lesley Ellison, Patty Pyrz, Lisa Grumish

  1. Monica Taylor called the meeting to order.  Laurie McDonald led the devotion and prayer.
  2. Business Meeting:
    1. Minutes of the meeting for July 22, 2008:  Presented by Tricia Morenz.  M/S/C to approve with the following changes:  Laurie McDonald has been hired for the Little Lamb 3’s class, not the third grade.  Christy Rivers was spelled incorrectly.  Karen Rohrer gave information on the Back To School Breakfast which she felt was successful, and wanted to thank all the volunteers who contributed their time and donations of food.
    2. Treasurer’s Report:  Presented by Linda Prom.
      1. M/S/C to approve budget.
      2. Monthly Report:  Report covering July and August.  M/S/C to approve.  
      3. Recycling Station:  Motion to approve the PTF reimbursing the school $204. 69 for Recycling Station.  Motion approved.  
    3. Principal’s Report:  Principal Leffler stated current enrollment is 203, down 13 from the 2007-2008 school year.  August 29th is the Brown Bag Picnic for Chapel Families.  Fourth and Fifth grade classes will be attending Camp Cilca September 18th & 19th.  The Fourth  Grade Class will attend for the day on the 18th, and the 5th graders will attend for the 18th & 19th.  The Eighth Grade Class will be leaving on their Gettysburg Trip on September 28th, and returning October 3rd.  The new recycling bins have been placed in all rooms, and by the pop machine.   
    4. Committee Reports:
      1. Volunteer  Coordinator:  Karen Rohrer stated there is a PTF Childcare signup, which is located outside the school office.  More volunteers are still needed for the Car Wash to be held on the 20th.  All staff were given profile questionnaires, and these are accessible to room reps. and parents.  There is a sign up available for the Back To School Picnic, this also is another way to get Faith Hours.  Faith Hour forms that parents completed were sent to committee chairs.  Karen Rohrer created a Teacher and staff information list.  There was a room rep. meeting on August 3rd, responsibilities of room reps. were discussed.  
      2. Family Fun: Back To School Coffee:  The room rep. in charge of this activity was not present.  Monica Taylor stated she counted around 70 people attending.  
      3. Family Fun: Back to School Picnic, Open House:  Wendy Wolter reported that the Boy Scouts are volunteering to assist with the picnic.  The food has been ordered, and the newsletter states what everyone should bring.  Wendy Wolter has planned for 400 people attending.  Everyone is to bring their own table service.  Patty Pyrz will contact the News Gazette for possible coverage of the event.  
      4. Book Fair: Pages For All Ages:  The event is to be held in November, no specific date has been set yet.  Discussion was held if proceeds should be in form of cash or gift card.  The gift card would yield a higher percentage.  
      5. Car Wash:  Jeni Oschwald reported that the goal for the car wash is $5,000.  The proceeds will benefit a sound system for the gym, the total cost is $4560.   Packets will be sent home after Labor Day with students.  Class parties for classes raising the most money will be through Monicals and Curtis Orchard.  
      6. Kirby Foods/HVC/County Market Sign-Ups:  Leah Seten reported that she will be signing people up at the school picnic.  If people registered last year they don’t have to sign up again.  
      7. Logo Items-Back to School Coffee Sales:  $389.50 was raised for logo items at the Back To School Coffee.  Logos will also be available at the Back To School Picnic.  
      8. Market Day:  Diane Pelafos reported that June sales were $176, and $226 in August.  The next sale is September 24th, and the order form and letter explaining the program will be sent home.  
      9. SchoolPop:  Mary Slack reported that the 2nd quarter check was received for $1050.00.  A total of $907.92 will be credited to families for tuition.  
      10. Box Tops For Education:  A drawing will be held at the Back To School Picnic for students who collected and returned box tops over the summer.  Students should keep bringing in Box Tops for the first classroom competition.
      11. Discussion was held regarding adding local vendors, especially grocery stores.  The most purchased cards are Panera and Goodrich Theaters.  Discussion was held on having some Scrip cards available on hand in the office.  
    5. Reports from congregational representatives:  No reports.
    6. Old Business:  
      1. Final Calendar and Board/Committee List:  The list and calendar has been finalized.  
      2. Reminder of division of Duties of Vice President:  Monica Taylor is requesting that all PTF Board Members report the duties and time spent on each position for the month to her.
      3. New PTF meeting format for September meeting:  The first 30 minutes of the next meeting will be open to all, and covering 4 agenda items.  Possible agenda items discussed were the Book Fair, and all tuition reimbursement programs available.  All parents are encouraged to attend.  Following this 30 minute portion, snack will be offered, and the rest of the meeting will resume.
    7. New Business:
      1. Reminder of Auction Committee meeting:  To be next week after school or evening.
      2. Reminder to take down fliers for events:  Please remember to take down fliers following events.
      3. Discussion of Content Coordinator Position/Executive Board Member: On agenda for September meeting is consideration if Content Coordinator Position should become an Executive Board Member Position.
      4. Baby Shower:  Discussion was held on having a baby shower for Mrs. Folkmann.  Discussion was led by Tiffany Bauer.
      5. Ideas For Auction:  Mr. Leffler presented a list of ideas for the Auction Fundraiser proceeds to benefit.  
  3. The meeting was adjourned with Prayer.
