JUMP ROPE FOR HEART
Dear Students and Parents:
St. John Lutheran School will be participating in a Jump Rope For Heart event during the two weeks of October 20 to 24 and October 27 to 31. This is a community service program sponsored by the American Heart Association.
The students will………..
- learn two lessons in the classroom related to a healthy lifestyle. Taking care of our heart will be the focus.
- participate in two P.E. activities that promote aerobic exercise.
Again the heart will be our focus.
- be given the opportunity to seek financial support for the American Heart Association in the organization’s effort to reduce and avoid heart disease and stroke.
- Students can earn prizes as listed on the envelope. Additionally, there are prizes that include the “Hoops for Heart” program as well.
- The school will receive free P.E. equipment based on the amount we as a school can achieve.
- Students achieving contributions of $75 or more will become members of the Subway Club. These students will be awarded a Subway party during the month of November.
- Also, a drawing of prizes will be awarded to those who achieve $50. They will become members of the Lifesavers Club.
Our School Goal is $4000.
We ask that the students not go door-to-door in this campaign. Rather we encourage gifts that come from family members and friends via in person, by computer on-line, or by phone. Have the checks made payable to American Heart Association. Date due is Wednesday, November 5. The American Heart Association is very thankful of your efforts. Donations are tax deductible.
We hope you will participate in this effort to promote a healthy lifestyle and to support the effort to reduce heart disease and stroke.
Sincerely,
Mr. Dan Yagow,
Coordinator
