PTF Board Members Present:  Renee Nagy, Karen Rohrer, Monica Taylor, Julie Tappendorf, Ralph Leffler, Laurie McDonald, Lynn Marassa, Tricia Morenz, Linda Prom

Others Present:  Leah Seten, Angie Fenwick, Mary Slack, Michele Tarter, Steven Blanke

  1. Renee Nagy opened with devotion and prayer.
  2. Business Meeting
    1. Minutes of meeting for March 25th, 2008 meeting.  M/S/C with following correction: Rohrer misspelled on bottom of second page. 
    2. Principal’s Report:  Mr. Leffler reported that the current enrollment is 221 students.  There are 188 enrolled for next year, along with others who have not enrolled yet but are planning on doing so.  Open House is scheduled for May 1st from 5-7 and school tours are also available at 9:30 and 1:30.  There is no school on April 24th and 25th.  Discussed dates of Kindergarten graduation, Field Day and 8th grade graduation, all of which are listed on the Master Calendar of Events 2007-2008.  The last day of school is Friday, May 30th with dismissal at 10:00. 
    3. Treasurer’s Report:  Discussion of Allocations.  M/S/C to accept Treasurer’s Report. 
    4. Volunteer Coordinator’s Report:  Laurie McDonald reported that Teacher Appreciation Week is May 5th through 9th.   May 23rd is Kindergarten Graduation, and May 30th is 8th grade graduation, both of which are in need of volunteers.  Room Representatives are still needed for LL3, LL4, K, 2nd, 4th, and 7th grade.  
    5. Committee Reports:
      1. Graduations:  Kindergarten graduation is May 23rd.  Wendy Wolters is
      2. chairing the 8th grade graduation. 
      3. Kirby Foods/HVC/County Market:  St. John received a check for
      4. $371.87 from IGA.  The date to re-enroll for next year is July 1st.
      5. Market Day: Orders are due April 23rd. 
      6. Plant Sale/Danville Gardens Gift Cards Sale:  Karen Rohrer reported that 149 out of 400 cards are left to sell.  Sales will take place between church services on April 27th.   The cards will be sold through the end of May.
      7. Relay for Life:  May 5th is Pizza Night at Village Inn to benefit Relay for Life.  Relay for Life will take place on May 17th through May 18th. 
      8. SchoolPop:  Mary Slack stated there was nothing to report. 
      9. Scrip:  The Scrip Program will continue through the summer, occurring once a month.  Attempts are currently being made to add local vendors to the Scrip Program.  Total sales since October are $26,206.
      10. Teacher Appreciation Week:  Teacher Appreciation Week will be held May 5th through May 9th.     
    6. Reports from Staff, Parents, and Congregation:  No reports. 
    7. Old Business: 
      1. Next year’s calendar/Car Wash/Auction Date:  Discussion was held on
      2. the school calendar for 2008-2009.  The auction which was previously scheduled for November 2008, has been moved to April of 2009.  The Car Wash has been scheduled for Saturday, September 20th, 2008. 
      3. Nominating Committee Report:  Positions for the Executive Board will be voted on at the PTF meeting next month.  Standing Committees have been filled except for Teacher Appreciation Week position.
    8. New Business:
      1. Allocation of Funds Recommendation:  M/S/C to accept Allocated              
      2. Funds Worksheet. 
      3. Ice Cream Social:  There are 2 tubs of unopened ice cream. 
      4. Open House:  Open House scheduled for May 1st.  Volunteers are needed to make cookies, and serve refreshments.  Two volunteers are needed from 5-7. 
      5. End of Year Teacher Appreciation:  The PTF will host a bowling party at Old Orchard Lanes on Monday June 2nd at 5:00.  PTF board members, staff, and their families are welcome to attend.  A sign up will be available at the next meeting for bowling and bringing desserts.   
  3. Adjourn with Prayer:  Karen Rohrer adjourned the meeting with prayer.
