MOPS OF ST. JOHN
MOPS stands for Mother Of PreschoolerS and they meet Monday mornings, sixteen times throughout the school year at St. John Lutheran Church. Their meetings include speakers on a variety of topics, small group discussions, creative activities and social time with other mothers of preschoolers. During this time, the children enjoy playtime as well as a Bible story, songs and craft. If you are a mother of a preschooler (any child, birth through kindergarten), MOPS encourages you to join their group. Registration for next fall is beginning. The theme for next year is "Adventures in Mothering" and motherhood certainly is an adventure! Register by June 30th and receive a discount on your MOPS International membership. Forms are available on the Narthex table. This summer they will gather at Burwash Park on Monday mornings - bring your kids and join them for an informal get together. If you have any questions, please call Kim Schmidt, 664-3340.

ST. JOHN PARENT TEACHER FELLOWHIP HAPPENINGS
SCRIP
We thank you for a terrific year! St. John had a total of $34,105.55 in orders and $1,515.71 earned for families’ tuitions and our PTF! What an excellent first year! We are also looking into expanding our list of available retailers by adding several local businesses. If you, a friend or family member
own or frequent a local business that you would like to see available for gift card purchases through St. John Scrip, please contact Laurie McDonald at 355-8511 or drop her a note in the lock box.
Our last order of the 07-08 school year is currently available in the office. If you have not yet picked up your order, please do so as the school office will have limited hours this summer. Scrip WILL continue to be available during the summer. We will be placing one order per month during June and July, then continue on a bi-weekly schedule once school resumes. Please make sure to view the attached summer and 08-09 School Year Scrip schedule.
You may have noticed that many of the Speedway and BP gas stations in Champaign/Urbana have switched to Circle K/ Marathon. We DO offer both Circle K and Marathon gift cards. One way to get more savings on gas these days would be to purchase your gas cards through St. John Scrip. GL Scrip is currently offering a 2% tuition rebate on Circle K cards and a 3% and 4% (depending on the increment you purchase) tuition rebate on Marathon cards. We will also continue to make BP and Speedway gift cards available for purchasing, but just be aware that you will not be able to use them locally.
If you have not yet purchased Scrip, now is the time to get started. Just click on www.shopwithscrip.com to find out how you can start earning $$$ off your 2008-2009 tuition today!
PLEASE HELP FILL THESE OPENINGS
The PTF is looking for your help! We have openings for volunteers to coordinate the sale of our Logo Items, and to be a Room Representative for 7th grade. Anyone who is interested in volunteering for these positions, please contact Monica Taylor at 355-3707.

If you would like to get a jump on earning your F.A.I.T.H. hours for next year and if you can help sort orders, please contact Diane Pelafos at 356-0063. No experience is necessary! We would need help from 11:15am until 1:15pm on the dates listed above.
DANVILLE GARDENS GIFT CARDS
The Plant Sale is officially over. All of the 500 gift cards were sold, helping to bring us to within $50 of our goal for this fundraiser! Thank you to Karen Rohrer for chairing this new event and thank you to all of those who purchased cards!
