FAITH HOURSOur records indicate that some families still need to complete the required number of hours to fulfill their FAITH obligation to the school. We have only two weeks of school left this year, so time is limited for those who need to finish their hours. Please be reminded that during the first week in June, the school office will be sending statements to those families who have not fulfilled the required number of hours, at a rate of $20.00 per hour.
RELAY FOR LIFE
On Hat and Flip Flop Day we raised $265.10 for our Relay for Life team. So far our team has collected over $4000 for the American Cancer Society. We received $320.00 from Village Inn Pizza for the two "Pizza Nights." That includes a $50.00 donation from Village Inn in addition to the 15% of the receipts from St. John supporters. Thank you to all who contributed in one way or another - those on the team, those who gave monetary donations or food items, and those walked at the relay. Our site number Saturday evening is 59 - please stop by and walk a lap with us.
**LIBRARY NEWS**LIBRARY NEWS**LIBRARY NEWS**LIBRARY NEWS**LIBRARY NEWS*
You may not be aware of this; each year Mr. Yagow asks for volunteers from his 5th Grade class to serve as librarians. This year the student librarians were: Ali M., Sierra S., Kate Y. and Matthew C.. These students were responsible for replacing the borrower’s cards in returned books, giving kind reminders for late books, assisting fellow students in checking out books, and shelving books. Thank you for helping in our library!
Our hard working P.T.F. has generously allocated funds for the library to purchase both the Monarch and Rebecca Caudill book sets this year! They have also requested that these books be marked in memory of St. John School Board member, Ralph Patzke. Every time you participate in a P.T.F. sponsored function, you are supporting your favorite Lutheran School; St. John! Thank you very much P.T.F. officers for being such fine examples of volunteer spirit and for promoting fellowship within our school. Thank you also to every St. John family who has attended the Fun Fair, purchased Market Day products or gift cards for the plant sale, clipped out Boxtops for Education coupons, participated in the SCRIP program, ordered a pizza on Monical's Night or any of the many P.T.F. activities.
Happy Birthday to Kindergarten students, Addison and Pryce P.. Their Mom and Dad purchased Birthday Book Club books that were presented to them by Mr. Leffler during Chapel this week.
In addition, we have had several more book donors. Ida O. donated books in honor of her great-grandchildren, Allie and John P. and James C. Leona B. and her daughter, Debra S., who resides in Chicago, delivered a huge box of books! Thank you ladies!
In Appreciation,
Ronda Craig
