- Renee Nagy opened with devotions and prayer.
- Business Meeting:
- Minutes of meeting for February 26, 2008 meeting. M/S/C/ with following corrections: Wolter is misspelled as Walters. Foresman is misspelled as Foreman. Haase is misspelled as Hasse. Minutes accepted.
- Mr. Leffler reported that we currently have 221 students enrolled. Report cards will be sent home on Friday, March 28th. The 7th & 8th grade play will be held on April 17th at 6:30 and April 19th at 10 a.m. The Stanford Achievement Test for grades 2nd through 8th will be administered on April 21, 22, 23, 28, 29, and 30th. St. John school will be participating in “Pennies for the Protectors”. Proceeds will be used for a memorial in West Side Park for police and fireman. Teachers will be receiving new laptop computers; Greg DeYoung will lead an in-service for the teachers.
- Treasurer's Report: M/S/C to accept Treasurer’s Report.
- Volunteer Coordinator’s Report: Renee Nagy reported in the absence of Laurie McDonald. The Ice Cream Social is scheduled for April 17th. Volunteers for the Fun Fair and Lutheran Schools Week will be receiving thank you notes.
- Committee Reports:
- Box Tops For Education: $711.80 was submitted.
- Fun Fair: The total profit was $2800. This years total is lower than previous year. Discussion held on lack of volunteers and possibly moving the date of the Fun Fair.
- Ice Cream Social: The Ice Cream Social will be held on April 17th.
- Kirby Foods/HVC/County Market: Contributions from County Market were
$532.80. The next HVC check will be sent at the end of April.
- Logo items: Michelle DeYoung reported that logo items were sold during Lutheran Schools Week and at the Fun Fair.
- Market Day: Diane Pelafos reported the next sale will be April 2nd. The dates for next year’s sales are scheduled except for March. Summer sales were discussed, with the possibility of having pick-up dates on Saturdays. $900 of profits will go toward the Gettysburg Trip.
- Plant Sale/ Danville Gardens Gift Cards Sale: Karen Rohrer reported letters and order forms will be sent home April 1st. Sales will be held on Sunday April 13th and 27th between church services.
- Relay for Life: Pam Haase reported that Relay for Life will be held May 17th & 18th at Centennial Track from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The theme this year is “Cruisin for a Cure” There will be pizza nights at Village Inn on April 7th, and possibly May 5th with proceeds going to Relay for Life.
- Schoolpop: Mary Slack stated she would be willing to meet with new parents on Wednesday mornings to explain the SchoolPop program on the computer..
- Scrip: Year to Date total for Scrip program is $22,316.
- Teacher Appreciation Week: Teacher Appreciation Week will be held May 5th to May 9th.
- Reports from Staff, Parents, and Congregation: The school librarian will be sending out a survey for opinions on books wanted for the next school year.
- Old Business
- Nominating Committee Report for next year’s PTF Board: Discussion was held on current members continuing serving next year.
- New Board position and change in Vice President job description: Discussion was held on changing the responsibilities for the PTF Vice President to better prepare them for the Presidency the following year.
- New Business
- Track meet concession stand: The track meet will be held on April 5th from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Volunteers are need to help set up on April 4th from 8-9 p.m., and on the 5th for 2 hour and 15 minute shifts between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.
- Auction Date: The Auction Committee is planning on the auction to be held on October 18th, 2008.
- Next year’s calendar: Discussion was held on possibly changing the date of the Car Wash next year.
- Adjourn with Prayer: Karen Rhorer adjourned the meeting with prayer.
