RE-ENROLLMENT PACKETS FOR 08-09

Please continue to turn in your re-enrollment packets.  Classes are steadily growing!

SURVEY

The Finance Committee and the School Board are gathering information to see if families would be interested in using a credit card rather than writing a check to make their tuition payment each month.  If the credit card option would become available, a convenience charge would be passed on to families each month as well.

If you would be interested in making your tuition payments with a credit card, please This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

INSIGHT SUBSCRIBERS

If you are an Insight subscriber and are changing to Comcast, please e-mail Joy Lou at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or stop by the school office to notify any changes in your e-mail address.

LUNCH REMINDER

No hot lunch will be served in April or May.   You will need to bring a lunch from home Monday through Thursday, beginning next Tuesday.  We will still have Fun Fridays.  Mark your calendar that Dairy Queen will come on April 11th, May 9th, and May 23rd.  Garcia’s will come on April 4th, April 18th, May 2nd, and May 16th.

MATHATHON

Our school is participating in the St. Jude Children's Hospital Math-a-thon.  All students will be bringing home math packets, which are a great way to practice what they know about math.  If you choose, your student can help raise money for St. Jude's by getting donations for each math problem he or she completes.  There are lots of cool prizes if your student decides to collect pledges.  Please return the signed permission form (in the yellow student/parent guide) and all pledges to the school on Friday, April 4th.

7TH AND 8TH GRADE PLAY

This year the 7th and 8th graders will be performing Rapunzel and Jack and the Beanstalk on Thursday, April 17 at 6:30 pm and Saturday, April 19 at 10:00 am.  Everyone is invited!

PROPS NEEDED

Also, we are looking for a few props for our play.  If you have something from this list that the 7th and 8th graders can borrow or use, please email Mrs. Rivers at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .  We still need: fake trees, a red cape, a sailor hat, corn stalks, a VERY large bowl, burlap sacks (4-5), green material, pullies (2), and grey paint (any shade).

RELAY FOR LIFE

The PTF is once again sponsoring a team for the Champaign Relay for Life to be held on May 17th and 18th.  As part of our fund-raising efforts we have planned a pizza night at Village Inn on the corner of Springfield and Mattis for Monday, April 7th.   15% of our sales will go to the Relay for Life team's total.  Fliers are available in the school office and on the Narthex table to take with you. One is also attached to this newsletter. This flier will need to be presented to your server if you dine-in, or the cashier if you order take-out.   Spend a night out with your family and help support our Relay for Life team.  Thrivant Financial is making a $500 donation to the Relay for Life on behalf of our St. John Team.

FISH FRY

The St. John Men’s Club is hosting a Fish Fry in the School Gym on April 11, 2008 from 4:30 – 7:00.  Adults are $8.00 and Children are $5.00.  Proceeds will go to the St. John Athletic Department.  Tickets may be purchased in the school office. Plan an evening of no cooking and come enjoy fish and fellowship at St. John!
