CORRECTION UPDATESPlease notify the school office if you have any changes to your e-mail, phone numbers, and address or emergency contacts.
TRANSPORTATION REIMBURSEMENT FORMSTransportation Reimbursement forms are now in the school office. Any family who lives farther than 1 ½ miles from school is encouraged to sign up for this reimbursement. Children who are current Kindergarten – 8th grade students may be claimed.
2007- 2008 TUITION STATEMENTSCopies of your 2007-2008 tuition and band statement are available in the school office if you need them for tax purposes. Please pick them up at your convenience.
PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE SHEETSParent teacher conference sheets will be available for sign up today, Feb. 1st. They are on a table outside the office doors.
GRANDPARENTS DAY LUNCH ORDER FORMSLunch order forms for grandparents/special visitors as well as students have come home with students. In order for your child, grandparent or special visitor to have a lunch on Grandparents Day, Monday, March 3rd, you will need to pre order and pre pay. Orders are due by February 13th.
AR CHALLENGE 2008The AR Challenge for this year began on Monday, January 28. We are competing against 75 other Lutheran Schools. You can follow progress at:

We also have a school competition. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades are competing against each other and the 5th, 6th, and 7th grades are competing. The class in each division with the most points wins a pizza party.
The contest will last until March 7th. Please encourage extra reading at home!

THE 7th GRADE CLASS THANKS YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORTThe Seventh Grade class would like to thank all of the parents, staff, congregation and students for their support. The Spaghetti Dinner/Dessert Auction/Talent Show was a HUGE success! We sold over 300 tickets! We especially extend an enormous thank you to all of you who baked for the Dessert Auction. We received over 80 beautiful items!

F.A.I.T.H. Hour Opportunities
ATHLETICSThe 5th Annual St John Track & Field Invitational will be held Saturday, April 5th, 2008, at the U of I Armory indoor facility. The Athletic Department is looking for approximately 50 volunteers to assist with various meet functions. This commitment includes being at the U of I Armory from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on April 5th and an attendance at a ½ hour meeting a week before the event. Knowledge of track and field is not needed for a majority of the volunteer opportunities.
Please contact Jeff Miller or Brad Luhrsen with the St John athletic department, Joy Lou Walker in the school office, or one of the track and field coaches Ed Drebes, Eric Potter, Karl Newman if you are able to volunteer any time to this event.
BOOK FAIRThanks to everyone who has signed up to work at the Book Fair from Tuesday, February 12 through Saturday, February 14! If you haven't signed up to help, it's not too late. The sign up sheets are located in the front lobby of the school. We still need lots of volunteers to advertise, bring snacks, set up and take down the displays, and sell books. DON'T FORGET! Eat Pizza...Monical's Pizza NightEat at Monical's Pizza anytime on Monday, February 4th and 20% comes back to our school. Fliers are available on the Narthex table. This flier will need to be presented to your server if you dine-in, or the cashier if you order take-out. (Offer is good only at the Champaign, Urbana, and Mahomet Monical's locations)
FREE Monical's Family Pleaser DrawingBring in the top half of the Community Night flier to the school office by Friday, February 8th to enter into a random drawing for a FREE Monical's Family Pleaser meal complete with pizza, salad, and a pitcher of pop. Take a break from cooking and help support our school!

SCRIPThank you families for your ongoing participation! Orders were available Wednesday in the school office. If you have not yet picked up your order, you may do so at any time.
Remember: It is not too late to earn more dollars toward your child's tuition and the March registration deposit! Don't forget to have your order with payment and the $1 handling fee in the lockbox outside the school office by noon Tuesday, February 5th. A percentage of any order placed this Scrip cycle and also the February 19th cycle (plus a percentage of any order placed prior to these dates) will be deducted from your family's March registration deposit. After that, a percentage of any order placed will be deducted from your child's tuition in November. So keep ordering!
If you need an extra information packet and enrollment form for you, a friend or family member, they are available in the school office or on the Narthex table. You may also go to www.glscrip.com to view this program more closely. While there, click on "What's New" to see the long list of retailers offering increased discounts this month! There are quite a few. Check it out!
