REPORT CARDS

Report Cards were sent home today.

FAITH HOUR UPDATES 

For your information, a note is being sent in your child’s report card stating how many FAITH hours
your family has recorded in the FAITH Binder as of 10/29/07.

NO SCHOOL

There will be a half day of school on Thursday, Nov. 8th with dismissal at 11:30 and No School on
Friday, Nov. 9th due to Parent Teacher Conferences. The November Lunch Calendar states No
School on Thursday, Nov. 8th. This is actually a half day.

CHAPEL OFFERINGS

Chapel offering for Nov. 7 is 1 pencil sharpener.

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES

Parent Teacher Conference sign-up sheets are on a table outside the office doors for you to sign up
with your child’s teacher. Teacher conferences are on Nov. 8th from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on
Nov. 9th from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
PTF is providing childcare during Parent Teacher Conferences on Thursday November 8th from 5:00
-8:00 pm.

VETERANS DAY PROGRAM

We will have a Veterans Day Program at St. John on Thursday, Nov. 8th at 10:30 a.m. in the school
gym. Please come early and hear the St. John Band perform. All students should wear red, white
and blue that day.

LUNCH SERVER NEEDED

We are looking for someone to help serve Garcia’s pizza on the first, third, and fifth Friday of each
month. The time is from 11:20 until approximately 12:45. Please call the school office for more
details.

JUMP ROPE FOR HEART

Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart contribution envelopes are due this Friday, November 2.
The American Heart Association and St. John Lutheran School thanks you for your support in this
cause.

MOPS AT MONICAL’S

Join St. John MOPS in enjoying great pizza and support our group Monday Nov. 5th. You are invited
to gather at Monical's Pizza for the MOPS "Community Night" fundraiser. "Community Night" is a
perfect opportunity for you to support MOPS and the community. It's simple, bring a flier for the event
and dine in at Monical's. Enjoy delicious pizzas, pastas, and sandwiches on Monday, Nov. 5th and
Monical's will donate 20% of your check to MOPS. Just think, you'll be raising money by going out to
eat. Don't forget to bring a flier! Extras are available on the Narthex table by the sanctuary.

ATHLETICS

The 8th Grade Volleyball team is competing at the Lutheran State Volleyball Tournament beginning
today in Springfield. We wish them well.
Please remember to turn in your clean volleyball, soccer, and cross country uniforms to the school
office.

PAGES FOR ALL AGES Community-Wide Bookfair

Pages For All Ages Bookfair is taking place at the store located in Savoy through Sunday, November
4th. St. John Lutheran School's participants can show their support by simply shopping at Pages. For
every item our supporters buy at this store, Pages will donate 15% to St. John Lutheran School PTF.
All you have to do is mention St. John Lutheran School at the check out to receive credit for the
purchases you are making.

SCRIP

St. John PTF is pleased to announce that the SCRIP program is a GO! Look for information and
directions for how to order to come home with your child next week!

Market Day

November Market Day order forms are due next Thursday to the school office. Internet orders may be
placed until noon on Friday the 9th at www.marketday.com . Pick up is Wednesday, November 14
from 3:00 - 5:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

Dessert Order Forms
Pie and Cheesecake order forms are due with payment to the school office by Thursday, November 8
at 11:30 a.m. The child that took with order will be responsible for picking up and delivering all
desserts that were ordered under his/her name. Pick up will be Wednesday, November 14 from 3:00-
5:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
