CHAPEL OFFERINGS

Chapel offering for Dec. 5th is colored construction paper (40 – 50 sheets)
TRANSPORTATION REIMBURSEMENT SAFETY HAZARD
If you live less than 1 and ½ miles from school to qualify for transportation reimbursement, you
must acquire verification that a serious safety hazard exists. Parents/guardians must obtain the
Application for Determination of Serious Safety Hazard form from the appropriate Regional
Superintendent of Schools in the county they reside or it can be downloaded at
http://www.isbe.net/funding/pdf/safe_hazard_app_instruct.pdf . Such form must be completed and
returned to the respective Regional Superintendent by February 1, 2008.

If you have signed up for Transportation Reimbursement last school year, checks from the state are
typically mailed in December. For people who have never signed up for Transportation
Reimbursement, the state of Illinois reimburses parents/guardians who live 1 and ½ miles or farther
from school a portion of your gas mileage. To sign up for this, just come to school office and
submit your information, but not until February 2008. A new reminder will come out when the
date is a little closer.

SCRIP

For those of you who placed an order with us this week, gift cards will be available for pick-up in the
office this Wednesday, December 5th, from 8 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. Please don’t forget to check your order
before leaving, as these gift cards/certificates are used the same as cash. You will be asked to sign
that you received your order and that it is correct. You can get your friends and family to sign up
as well. Just pick up one of the extra information packets/order forms that are available in the school
office and on the Narthex table. Don’t forget to remind them there are two ways to order: using the
order form attached to the information packet or on–line. Also, we will be placing one more order
before Christmas vacation, so it’s not too late to buy SCRIP before doing your shopping. You
can get your family something they’ll love while crediting your tuition at the same time! SCRIP gift
cards also make great stocking stuffers. Now available, you may purchase a package of 16 Holiday
Gift Card Wrappers for $5.60 with 20% credit for your tuition or organization. With Christmas just
around the corner, many retailers are now offering increased credit percentages for a limited time
only. Check it out! Go to www.glscrip.com . Click on “What’s New” to see the long list of retailers
offering Holiday Bonus Discounts. Also, we are pleased to announce that Wal-Mart gift cards are
now available!

Market Day Volunteers Needed
Can you help unload and sort orders before you pick up your children from school? No experience is
necessary. This is a fast-paced volunteer opportunity and you would really be a big help to the
Market Day committee. Whether you can help monthly or just occasionally we could really use you,
especially with cold and flu season upon us when we sometimes lose our helpers. It would be great
to have a "sub" list.

If you can help at our sales, the next one is Wednesday, December 19 and you just show up in the
Fellowship Hall by 1:45 p.m. Stay until school lets out or longer if you are able!

We are also needing volunteers to make pick up reminder calls prior to our sale. If you would be
willing to help in this manner, please contact Diane Pelafos at 356-0063 or This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .
